Molenbergnatie NV participates at Antwerp Short Run
A considerable group of Molenbergnatie employees has started training for this - meanwhile famous - event. The novice runner can opt for the short run (5 Kilometres), while fanatics can tackle the 10 miles (±16 Kilometres)
A few sport enthusiasts took the initiative back in October 2007 to motivate as many colleagues as possible for joining this sportive challenge.
The message was spread very fast, and soon a participating group of 25 members from different departments throughout our company was gathered.
Simultaneously, the initiative to combine the challenge with an additional sponsorship for a good cause was launched. After internal deliberation, we decided to choose for ‘Down Syndrome Flanders’.
The principal idea is that each runner can get sponsorship from just anyone like friends, family, colleagues in the form of financial compensation upon completing his or her run. Molenbergnatie on its turn will then double the amount gathered to add to the donation.
‘Down Syndrome Flanders’ is a subdivision of the ‘Flemish Association for Aid to Intellectual Disabled’, and is member of the ‘European Down Syndrome Association’.
‘Down Syndrome Flanders’ was founded in 2001 by a group of parents who intended to unite people with children carrying the Down Syndrome across Flanders under the wings of ‘Inclusion Flanders’.
The main objectives of DSF are, to spread information and documentation around Down Syndrome, and defending the interests of persons with Down Syndrome.
For further information and registrations you can contact Tom Wouters at +32 (0)3 541.42.42 – or through our website contact form.
Registrations will close on 31/12/2007. By then we would like to know the exact number of participators for the purpose of having our Molenbergnatie outfits ready in time for both the preparative trainings and the actual event.
With sport-loving greets,
TOM & Co.
