The AEO
statute (Authorized Economic Operator) is granted to companies with a proper record
of conduct, an adequate control system, a sound financial structure and respect
for reigning safety regulations. All AEO-certified companies are considered suitable and trustworthy for customs
transactions all over the EU.
With
this certificate, Molenbergnatie has been granted certain benefits by customs
authorities throughout the EU.

To ensure imported components of Bud-labelled products meet the strict Bio Suisse requirements, farmers and processors abroad must also comply with the Bio Suisse Standards. This compliance is monitored by the LCI (the Label Commission Import), on the basis of inspection reports, issued by local inspection bodies.

CERTISYS is a control and certification
organization whose activities are governed accordingly by public authorities
and legislation. CERTISYS is accredited for structure and procedures, in
accordance with guide standard ISO 65 (EN 45011), which require independence,
competence and impartiality. CERTISYS’s

guaranteeing rigorous respect of the standards applied on products, systems or
services.

ISO 22000
ISO (the International

(industry) standards, in response to sectors and stakeholders that express a
clearly established need for them.
ISO 22000 specifies the requirements for a food safety management system. Any organization involved in the food sector must demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards to ensure all food remains safe for human consumption.

UTZ CERTIFIED
Good Inside is a market-based sustainability programme dedicated to creating an
open and transparent marketplace for agricultural products. Besides coffee, UTZ
CERTIFIED has developed sustainability models for the production of cocoa and
tea. It also offers traceability services for palm oil. Within the UTZ
CERTIFIED programme farmers are trained in good agricultural and business
practices which care for people and the environment. This ultimately leads to
increased crop yield, improved quality and reduced costs.

The Max Havelaar Foundation was started in 1988
in the Netherlands as a
hallmark of fair trade products. The initiative, which is a collaboration
between Mexican coffee farmers and a Dutch relief organization, is supported by a.o. the ICCO (the Interchurch
Organization for Development Cooperation).
As many other countries have initiatives with a similar goal and method, the Max Havelaar label is now being used in approximately 23 countries, for products originating from about 55 countries. One and a half million farmers and workers directly benefit from the organization. It is affiliated with the international Fairtrade Labelling Organizations (FLO) and its products carry the Fairtrade Mark (the international version of the Max Havelaar label).
Fairtrade is a global certification and verification body, first set up in 2003 to independently certify Fairtrade products. Its aim is to establish a fairer global trade. Fairtrade uses its experience and expertise to help producers, traders and brands to use fair practices across supply chains.
FLO-Cert and Fairtrade Max Havelaar only directly certify producers, importers, traders and manufacturers. As Molenbergnatie is a warehouse keeper, it can only be certified by FLO-cert as per request and at the initiative of individual market participants.
